Survey shows Swiss poor at paying bills on time
Switzerland’s reputation for good finance and organisation has taken a hit after a Europe wide survey shows the country is one of the worst for paying bills on time.
Figures from the debt collection agency, Intrum, shows that only half pay their bills within the time limit. Other poor payers are the Germans and Romanians. But the Greeks are bottom of the list with 66% late payers. The best payers are the Czechs, Slovaks and Estonians. All former communist countries.
But it seems there is some prioritizing going up. Tax bills are the most likely to be paid late – people will pay other bills first.
Also put towards the end of the list are medical bills and credit cards.
