Man deported after arousing fake marriage suspicion

National News // By Tay Kinnear // Nov. 8, 2018

A Kosovo man has been deported after authorities accused him of entering a marriage of convenience.

For 5 years the man lived with his Swiss wife in Aargau. He then applied for a full residence permit. As soon as the paperwork was approved, he divorced his wife and moved in with another woman from Kosovo who has a four-year-old child.

The sudden change in circumstances seemed suspicious to the immigration office. They suspect him of having parallel relationships – and the child is his.

The mother is refusing a DNA test to be taken from the child. The court says if the child is proven not to be his, it would help his case.

The federal appeals court is upholding the deportation order.
