Collapsed Genoa bridge to be examined in Zurich
Parts of the Morandi Bridge in Genoa which collapsed in August are being transported to Zurich for examination.
Two trucks are on their way from Italy to the Federal Testing and Research Institute in Dübendorf. They’re due to arrive this evening.
The focus will be on one part in particular. A 3.5m long piece of concrete thought to be key to the tragedy which killed 43.
Engineers will have to work fast. The investigating judge in Italy wants the report by the beginning of December.
