Second day of striking for Geneva construction workers
Construction workers will be demonstrating for a second day in Geneva today.
Yesterday around 2,500 marched through the city centre, protesting deteriorating working conditions and wage dumping.
Workers recently secured the right to retire at 60 years old and higher wages – but employers then demanded 300 flexible hours – up from the previous 100.
Unions say the companies are retaliating against the new deal.
In Geneva alone, there are 1,400 construction companies with 12,000 employees.
