National News // By Tay Kinnear // Oct. 16, 2018

The next Formula E race to be held in Switzerland will be in Bern – but authorities have put down strict limits on the race.

The electric cars will not be allowed to race through the city centre as it will be too disruptive and race organisers can’t widen any of the streets.

But the race, in June next year, will be on the roads in the Obstberg area, the medieval Old Town will provide a stunning backdrop.

Organizers say the hilly area will allow for great views for spectators.

The first Formula E race to be held was last June in Zurich, more than 150,000 turned out to watch.

Work on readying the road track will start in March.
