Swiss customer privacy largely unprotected online
Swiss International Airlines is under pressure to improve its online security by the Federal Data Protection Commission.
Following a campaign by the newspaper Blick, the commission says the airline needs to do more to protect customer’s privacy.
The newspaper found that even the basic details of boarding passes can be used to find personal details and even change flight details.
A spokesman for the Data Commission says it’s up to Swiss to make changes.
The problem does not just affect Swiss, all airlines have similar issues.
In the meantime, passengers should keep their boarding passes secret and not post pictures of them online.
