Thieves cancel Zug football match
An amateur football game in Zug was cancelled after thieves stole wallets, cash and phones from the dressing room during the first half of the match.
But it’s not the first time.
When the two teams returned to the clubhouse at half time, they immediately discovered a safe used to store valuables had been broken into.
Match officials agreed to disband the game as players had to make calls to cancel credit cards.
A spokesman for the Central Swiss Football Association says it’s happened before and recommends wallets and phones are handed to a trusted person during the game.
The match will be re-held next week.
