More than 100,000 attended over the past week to watch 162 films from around the world – a new high for the event.

The main attraction were discussions with stars such as Donald Sutherland, Johnny Depp and Wim Wenders.

The top films were listed as ‘Girl’ from Belgium which won the international category, the critics award went to ‘The Guilty’ from Denmark and the best documentary went to another Danish film, ‘Heartbound’.

The organisers of the festival say 2018 is a very strong year for cinema.
