School children escape bus fire in tunnel
A group of French school children had a narrow escape when their bus caught fire in a tunnel in canton Jura.
Over 50 were able to escape through the emergency exits on the A16 yesterday afternoon. The bus was totally destroyed.
No one was seriously hurt, although a few were treated for smoke inhalation. They were taken to a nearby hospital.
The tunnel will be closed for several weeks due to fire damage.
The driver pulled over and ordered the kids to escape after he noticed smoke in the cab.
The reason for the fire is still being investigated. Police say the bus had not hit another vehicle or the wall.
