Children hospitalized after wasp attack
A group of school children had to be helicoptered to hospital after being attacked by a swarm of wasps.
The children, all around 14 years old, were in Valais on Friday afternoon as part of a school trip.
The fire service says the children inadvertently disturbed two nests in the ground. The wasps swarmed and attacked. One child was stung over 30 times.
In all 25 kids needed treatment at the hospital in Visp.
None suffered long term harm. But two were kept in hospital for further checks.
The local fire chief, Simon Vogler, told the press there are far more wasps around this year than normal.
