Swiss man arrested travelling to Syria with weapons
A Swiss man has been arrested trying to travel to the Syrian town of Idlib with several weapons in his car.
He was stopped on the Bulgarian/Turkish border. Bulgarian authorities have charged him with terrorist offences.
The man was carrying three rifles, a handgun, knives and ammunition.
He says he wants to help the civilians trapped in the besieged city.
Syrian government forces, together with Russian and Iranian troops, are preparing an assault on the town in the final push to take back full control of the country.
UN aid agencies are calling for restraint on all sides to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe.
