Maudet accepts further loss of control
The Geneva cantonal government has confirmed the beleaguered president Pierre Maudet will lose further control of several state institutions, such as the police and the airport.
Maudet has been under pressure for lying about receiving hospitality from a prince in Abu Dhabi.
It’s likely he will soon lose his immunity from prosecution. No party in the cantonal parliament is against the move and Maudet himself says he wants it, so he can prove his innocence.
