Lucky escape for train-hit car
A 32-year-old man and two children were lucky to escape with their lives after their car was hit by a train on a level crossing in canton Fribourg.
The car was crossing the line in Chatel-St-Denis when the train smashed into it and dragged it 30 meters.
The car occupants - including the 4 and 9-year-old children - were seriously injured and helicoptered to hospital.
The crossing doesn’t have barriers, but the lights and warning sounds were active at the time.
