Swiss patients spend billions of their own money for care
A new survey from the price comparison site, Comparis, confirms what many of us probably already suspect. Health care in Switzerland is very expensive.
The survey shows patients spend the most from their own pocket than any other country in the world.
In addition to the CHF 80bn paid out by insurance, an additional CHF 24bn was paid by patients – either from their money or from supplementary insurance.
The writers of the report says it shows basic health insurance is not sufficient to meet the needs of the people.
