Petition to end teacher burnout
Teachers in Switzerland are suffering from burnout.
A survey by a teacher's union has found that 60% of teachers feel their health is suffering from the workload.
Now, 6,000 teachers have sent a petition to Swiss Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education in a bid to tackle the burnout epidemic.
The petition is asking teachers to have less administrative work and more one-on-one time with students. They are also asking for more special needs support and smaller class sizes.
But, the main pushback to the petition comes from officials claiming that smaller class sizes are not practicable.
