Average pay rises in Switzerland
The latest pay survey by the government shows the median salary for a full time job in Switzerland is now at CHF 6,502.
The top ten percent of workers earn more than CHF 11,406 a month – while at the bottom 10% the average is just over CHF 4,000.
The gap between the highest and lowest earners is decreasing slightly. The top ten percent saw their pay rise by almost 7% - while the bottom 10% had a rise of almost 10%.
The gender pay gap is also closing - again very slowly. Four years ago the gap was 12.5% - now its 12%.
But the report from the Federal Office of Statistics does point out the variations is partly explained by activities.
