Prince Michael of Kent in Lucerne opening Victoria exhibition
The British Prince, Michael of Kent, is visiting Lucerne to open an exhibition devoted to his great-great Grandmother – Queen Victoria.

The Queen stayed in Lucerne in August and September in 1868, seven years after the death of her husband Albert. Her husband enjoyed visiting Switzerland and the trip is thought to have contributed to her recovering from her grief.
While there, she engaged in one of her favorite hobbies – painting.
The 76 year old Prince also spoke some German to the assembled dignitaries.
The exhibition includes paintings, some of Victoria’s writings and details of her stay in Switzerland. It’s on at the Lucerne Museum until September.
