Men need rescuing after botched dog rescue attempt
Two 71 year old men had to be rescued by police after they jumped into a swollen river to rescue a dog.
The men saw the dog struggling in the Emmen River in Lucerne. They decided to help and leapt in. They immediately got into trouble. Bystanders called the police – which then had to haul out the men.
They were taken to hospital suffering from hypothermia.
The dog escaped the river with no help and is fine.
