Switzerland places sanctions on Venezuela
Switzerland has joined other European countries and have issued sanctions on Venezuela.
The government says assets will be frozen and travel bans brought in for high ranking business people and ministers and officials.
The EU brought in sanctions against the South American country in January in protest at human rights violations.
The Foreign Ministry says it’s ‘seriously concerned by the repeated violations of individual freedoms’.
The sanctions also include arms and any good which can be used for internal repression.
