Geneva airport hopes for better day today
Geneva airport will be hoping operations will be smoother today – but there is still a chance of some flight cancellations and delays.
Yesterday’s snow closed the airport all morning and the first flight didn’t take off until 12.33 yesterday afternoon. Over 100 flights were cancelled.
The two regular inbound flights from New York had to be diverted to Paris and Zurich.
Disruption continued for the rest of the day.
Over 150 staff fought to keep the airport clear of snow all morning, using snow ploughs, tipper trucks, deicing machines and tractors.
Today will be better with most flights expected to be on time – but there could still be some problems and passengers should check with their airline before heading to the airport.
