Geneva hospital doctor convicted of rape
A former doctor at the Geneva cantonal hospital has been convicted of rape in France.
The case dates back to 2010 when the doctor was a medical student in France. He’s been convicted of drugging a young woman to have sex with her.
He later got a job with the hospital, despite his name having already been linked with sexual attacks by the local press. The hospital says they were unaware of the allegations. A spokesman for the hospital says they will examine if they need to make deeper investigations when hiring staff.
The doctor has been sentenced to five years in prison by a court in Lyon.
