Man helping broken down motorists has car stolen
A good samaritan may be regretting his decision to help a fellow motorist after his car was taken.
The jaguar driver was in canton Zurich early on Sunday morning and spotted a broken down car on the side of the road. He stopped to help and tried to get the car going by using jump leads.
Then another man turned up, told the two men he was a mechanic and sat in the Jag’s driver’s seat and revved the engine. He then put the expensive car in gear and shot off, smashing into a taxi during the getaway.
Police across the country were alerted and he was stopped three hours later in Graubünden near the Ticino cantonal border.
The 39 year old man was found to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs and didn’t have a driving licence.
