Federal court upholds suspended prison sentence against policeman
The Federal Court has confirmed a suspended 15 month prison term handed down to a 64 year old former policeman who promised an Iraqi asylum seeker a residence permit in return for sexual favours.
The case goes back to 2010 when the then Fribourg policeman told the refugee he could assist in getting him the required permits.
The Federal Court upheld the cantonal court’s initial judgement. The former policeman claimed his first trial was unfair as the lower court didn’t start with the presumption of innocence.
