German driver who raced through Gotthard Tunnel may soon be behind bars
The German driver who outraged Switzerland with his high speed journey through the country, including the Gotthard Tunnel may soon find himself behind bars.

In July 2014, the man identified only as Christian R, screamed south on the autoroute at speeds of up to 200 kph in a BMW Z4. He overtook at least ten cars in the Gotthard Tunnel. He was stopped by Ticino police by turning all the traffic lights red in the tunnel.
He was arrested and his car seized. But he fled home to Stuttgart. In his absence, a Ticino court has sentenced him to at least one year in jail.
The driver believes if he stays in Germany, he will be able to escape Swiss Justice. But German courts may not see it that way.
A prosecutor in his home town is applying to a German court arguing the sentence passed by the Swiss court is admissible and enforceable and he should serve his sentence in Germany.
