Prisoners removed from cells by police due to strike
The situation at the Bern prison where the inmates are currently striking for more privileges is getting worse.
Police have entered and taken away nine inmates. Their fellow prisoners say they don’t know where they are.
While the prison confirms the police operation – they are not disclosing the whereabouts of the prisoners or why the nine were selected. It’s thought they’re the ringleaders of the strike action.
The prisoners at Thorberg have been on strike for the past few days demanding more prison pay and sexual contact with partners.
Now they say their TV access has been banned for a month, they’ve been locked in their cells for the past 48 hours.
