Credit Suisse pays US fine to end forex investigation
Credit Suisse has agreed to pay USD125m as a fine to US authorities following an investigation into how the bank set foreign exchange rates.
The figure was agreed in a settlement negotiation.
The fine now ends an investigation by New York State which had been looking into manipulated exchange rates.
Credit Suisse says it’s satisfied the issue is now closed and says it will put in place more checks and stricter rules governing exchange rate setting.
