Tariq Ramadan teaches at Geneva University and is also a visiting professor at Oxford and other universities around the world. He’s been listed by Time magazine as one of the world’s most influential thinkers.

One woman, Henda Ayari says she was assaulted and raped by Ramadan in a Paris hotel in 2012. She had already written about the assault in a book, but had not named the attacker. She says she was prompted to come forward after the Harvey Weinstein revelations.

Another woman is also reported to have filed a law suit. Her Paris based lawyer says more woman also claim to have been abused by Ramadan.

Ramadan is refusing to comment to the press and has filed a defamation suit against Ayari.
