Jet d'Eau to be switched off for three weeks
Geneva’s most popular tourist attraction will be switched off for three weeks. The Jet d’Eau needs its annual servicing.
It’ll be switched back on on the 16th November – and then on its winter schedule, from 10am to 4pm.
When it’s fully operational, the Jet d’Eau shoots water up 140 meters at speeds of 200 kph.
Before 2003 the maintenance would have been carried out over the winter – as the Jet was turned off for the season. But it was decided to keep it on all year following pressure from the tourist office.
