Bern based airline may be forced to close
The Swiss airline, Skywork, is facing financial difficulties and may be forced to close at the end of the month.
The Swiss Federal Office of Aviation has put the company on notice to secure further funding or its licence will be revoked.
Authorities say it’s important airlines can show they have sufficient cash to make sure operations remain safe.
If the airline does close, it will be very bad news for Bern airport, which is its base. 90 people work for the airline directly and the airport supports 400 people.
The airline says it hopes to find new investors before the end of the month. Currently all flights are operating normally
