Three British speeding drivers have been released from prison
The three British drivers who’ve been in detention for three months after speeding through Switzerland on a Cannonball style rally have been sentenced and released.
They’ve received a prison sentence of between 13 and 14 months, suspended for two years.
They were caught racing on the autoroute at the beginning of June. Police say they were driving at more than 177 kph in Nissan GTRs.
There’s been criticism of the length of their pre-trial detention, but police say they needed the time to determine their speed.
They’ve also been banned from driving in Switzerland – so they will need a lift to the airport.
