TPG tests WiFi on trams and buses
Geneva’s public transport operator, the TPG, is to launch free Wi-Fi on a selection of buses and trams – and if the trial run is successful it will roll it out across the fleet.
The company says its part of the plan to make public transport more appealing.
Users will have to initially get a code through SMS – but then the device will connect automatically.
Use of the Wi-Fi will be limited to 2 hours every 24.
Technicians will monitor the service during the trial run to make sure connections are stable.
