Geneva to hit half a million people within a year
Geneva is expected to hit a demographic milestone in the next 12 months – hitting half a million inhabitants.
The population continues to grow in the small canton – and currently stands at 497,000. 4,500 people moved into Geneva in the past year.
Authorities are continually trying to find ways of housing the new arrivals – and the search for new homes remains a battle for newcomers if they don’t want to live in neighbouring France or Vaud.
