Schaffhausen police say they have no motive behind Monday’s chainsaw attack in the cantonal capital’s old town.

KAPO SH Schaffhausen police say no clear motive for chainsaw attack

A man, described as a 51 year old drifter, entered the local branch of CSS Insurance and injured 5 people.

He was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after a massive police search covering several cantons and Germany.

He was spotted by a local pizza restaurant owner.

At a press conference yesterday afternoon, the cantonal prosecutor says the man didn’t resist arrest and was found to be carrying crossbows and arrows.
