Government to launch incentives to encourage car sharing
The government is looking at ways to encourage car sharing for commuters. Ministers hope to have a plan in place to start trials by the end of the year.
If successful, it could mean a third fewer cars on the road at peak times.
Incentives could include tax breaks and cheaper parking.
There are also plans to launch a mobile phone app to put passengers and drivers together – including matching smokers with fellow smokers and those with similar musical tastes.
Over half of commuters in Switzerland get to work by car.
