Chainsaw attacker still on run
A man thought to be responsible for a chainsaw attack in Schaffhausen yesterday remains on the run. He injured five people, two of them seriously.
Police have named the suspect as 51 year old Franz Wrousis. He’s been described as a loner and lives in the woods.
Police say he suffers from schizophrenia and was a client of CSS Insurance. It was a CSS branch he entered and attacked staff with a chainsaw in the Schaffhausen old town.
Currently he has no formal place of abode, but used to live in canton Graubünden and police say he already has a criminal record relating to weapons offences.
His car has been found, a Graubünden registered VW caddy. Police say he should not be approached if spotted as he could still be armed. The chainsaw used in the attack has not been recovered.
