The woman was found guilty by a court in the canton of Bern of attempting to endanger the lives of others. She has also been convicted of a number of other offenses, including a violation of the Road Traffic Act.

The woman’s sentence was reduced on the grounds of diminished responsibility. She told the court that she threw the stones because she was bored. In the summer of 2015, she threw 25 stones, some as big as a fist, from a bridge overlooking the A1 motorway near Mühleberg in the canton of Bern.

Remarkably no one was injured although some vehicles were damaged.
