WTO could be next in Trump's sights

National News // June 12, 2017

Could the World Trade Organization be the next international body to be shunned by the United States?

WTO WTO could be next in Trump's sights

The US says it will withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord and has also questioned the UN Human Rights Council – now the WTO seems to be in its sights.

But while other countries are supporting international organizations – the WTO may not be supported so strongly.

Although the European Union says it supports free trade – the trade block has also questioned how the WTO operates.

Donald Trump called the body a ‘disaster’ while on the campaign trail – and is moving ahead with a protectionist agenda.
