Winterthur Africa music festival a success - finally
An African music festival in Winterthur is being hailed as a success as more than 50,000 people turned up to see acts perform across the long weekend.
The festival has been running for a few years – but it has been blighted by problems. In 2015 the organisers had to be declared bankrupt.
But this time they took a different approach and didn’t fork out to attract big names and relied instead on up and coming acts.
Acts were brought in from Zimbabwe, Jamaica and South Africa.
Although the last day had to be cut short due to thunderstorms – the organisers say the event was a success and it will be on again next year.
