Geneva rapist and murder faces decades in jail - but could be paroled
A Geneva court has jailed for life the rapist and murderer Fabrice A. But judges refused to rule the killer should never be released.
While it’s clear Fabrice A is highly mentally disturbed – the judges ruled they can’t be certain that changes in psychiatric care and extremely long term therapy could not cure him in the future.
But there’s no doubt the killer faces being locked up for decades.
Fabrice A was convicted of killing his therapist, Adeline in September 2013. He was on day release from a psychiatric hospital after being convicted of rape. At the time he was being prepared for release. He bought a penknife from a store and then slit the 34 year old’s throat.
The court said Adeline had shown him nothing but care – but he had planned the killing for several days and had not told his therapists about his urges.
