Figures show slight improvement in Geneva air quality
Figures released by the Geneva environment office show air quality in the canton is improving - but it may be due more to the weather than regulations.
Although the numbers in 2016 were still above legal limits at times – they are down on the previous year.
The best results is the amount of fine particulates in the air – they show the lowest figures since the canton started monitoring in 1998.
But although nitrogen dioxide was down, it was only slightly and after three years of increases.
But the weather may have had a positive impact. The cool spring of last year cut ozone levels.
