Zurich knife attacker has sentence increased by court
A 27 year old man who had been sentenced to 2 years in jail for attacking people in a Zurich park has had his sentence increased to 6 years by the Zurich Supreme Court.
The court heard the man indiscriminately attacked a couple with a meat knife in 2015. One was injured with cuts to the neck while the other escaped,
A lower court had convicted him of assault – but the higher court accepted the charge of attempted murder and increased his sentence.
The man denies the charge, saying he was being attacked by 10 people. The court rejected his story and also noted the man seemed to be under the influence at the time.
