Geneva hosts pro-science march
Geneva joined the world on Saturday with its own march for science. Around 600 scientists and supporters marched in support of scientific research.
There were hundreds of marches all over the world calling on politicians to acknowledge scientific research findings when creating policy.
Although President Donald Trump was not mentioned by name – the pro-scientific movement was spurred on by dismissals of climate change and threats to cut research funding.
Marchers from Swiss institutions such as EPFL and Cern were joined by non-scientists calling for solutions to issues such as climate change.
