Credit Suisse fights back with newspaper adverts
Swiss bank Credit Suisse launched a PR offensive yesterday by taking adverts in several UK broadsheet newspapers saying the bank has a zero tolerance of tax evasion.
The move comes as the bank’s branches in London, Amsterdam and Paris were raided by inspectors on Friday.
The bank says in the adverts that it wishes only to deal with clients who have paid all their tax and works closely with authorities to make sure that remains the case.
The bank added it will be launching an internal probe to make sure all its staff have been following the rules.
