Traders expect Stirling to remain steady against franc
Foreign exchange analysts say they don’t expect any major changes to the pound/Swiss franc in the next two years. Bankers say much of the uncertainty of Brexit has already been priced in and there’s a good chance the pound will strengthen against the franc over the next few months.
Although the British currency is down around 15% against the franc since the referendum in June – yesterday’s Article 50 triggering didn’t have much of an effect, as it was expected.
UBS say they expect the pound to trade around 1.23 against the franc for the next few months, and then move a little high by the middle of the year.
