Another derailment in Switzerland
Another Swiss train has jumped the tracks – exactly a week after a similar incident in Lucerne and following a report which reveals many lines in Switzerland are in need of urgent repair.
The latest incident happened in Bern yesterday afternoon. A commuter train leaving Bern’s main station left the tracks while heading for Sumiswald. No one was hurt and the 90 passengers were able to walk back to the station along the tracks.
Investigators are trying to determine what caused the train to derail. Delays are expected until this afternoon.
