Geneva minister says no risk as new tax official is a frontalier
Politicians in canton Geneva are questioning if its right a recently appointed senior manager is actually a frontalier.
The new deputy director of the tax office lives in France.
Some cantonal MPs say it’s a security risk if he takes confidential information home.
But the Finance Minister, Serge Dal Busco, says there is no need for concern. Tax information can’t be accessed remotely and his laptop and phone are encrypted.
In any case, the minister points out new international agreements now allow for sharing of tax information.
