Switzerland to spend nearly CHF 2bn on roads this year
The federal roads office says it will spend almost CHF 2bn this year on improvements to the country’s autoroute network.
The main focus will be on maintenance and improving traffic flow at known bottlenecks. A large chunk of the cash will be spent around Zurich, widening a stretch of the A1 to the north of the city.
Also the section of the A1 between Bernex and Ferney in Geneva will be improved and on the A9 between Vallorbe and Essert-Pittet in Vaud.
