Buses taken off road in Lausanne after fires
Commuters in Lausanne will have a lighter bus service today as public transport bosses have decided to take 17 vehicles off the road.

The move follows two separate fires already this year. One bus ignited in January, and then another 4 days ago.
Both buses were the same Neoplan diesel model made by the German manufacturer MAN. Although engineers spent the weekend examining all the buses of the same type to see if they could track down the problem – they couldn’t find anything specific.
The buses will now be checked by the maker. They will stay off the road until they’re given the all clear.
