The man is thought to have climbed onto the top of the commuter train in Como in Italy.

The train driver noticed a power drop and stopped the train to investigate when at the Balerna station in Ticino. He found the man on the roof in flames.

The man had no documentation and so identifying him will be difficult. Police say the only thing they can say for certain was the man was of African origin.

Authorities say border guards are continually finding people trying to get into the country hidden on the trains – some have been behind seats and even in luggage.
