Bars selling hard liquor to underage customers in Valais
Cantonal investigators in Valais say too many shops, bars and restaurants are selling alcohol to underage buyers.
In a test, authorities sent out a group of 16 and 17 year olds to attempt to buy strong liquor.
In 38% of cases they were successful – that’s up 9% from a similar test carried out last year.
But the group Addiction Valais, say they are encouraged that the majority of establishments refused to sell the alcohol to the minors.
The young team were asked to buy spirits and alcopops that have an 18 year old limit. 16 year olds are allowed to buy wine, beer and cider.
